Energy in the North on a defense forum and geothermal energy research

The KUAC FM “Energy in the North” episode on Aug. 19 will feature Brittany Smart, the senior advisor for defense community and research at the University of Ƶ Fairbanks Geophysical Institute. Smart will talk about the Ƶ Defense Forum, which will take place Aug. 24-26 in Fairbanks with the theme “Readiness in action.”

On Aug. 26, Declan Goldhawk, an Ƶ Center for Energy and Power summer intern will discuss his research on the potential for geothermal energy in the Anchorage area.

“Energy in the North” explores the importance and opportunities that energy and power provide to Ƶ and its people.

The series airs every Wednesday, broadcast on and , around 7:45 a.m., 8:45 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Ƶ time.
