DOE Office of Indian Energy Visit to ÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ
As part of a weeklong visit to ÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ, the US Department of Energy Office of Indian Energy came to Fairbanks on Tuesday, August 4th to learn more about the issues facing the remote communities of ÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ. Chris Deschene (Director), Mike Rodrigue (COO), and Givey Kochanowksi (ÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ Office Director) attended meetings with ÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ personnel, paid a visit to the management of the Fox permafrost tunnel, met with local utility managers, and tribal groups as part of their day in the Interior.
Before the week is over the DOE team members will have visited Anchorage, Fairbanks, and the communities of Rampart, Huslia, Shungnak, Selawik, Kotzebue, Kivalina, and Buckland.
