Small-Scale Nuclear Report for ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ Published
ACEP has just released an updated report on small nuclear technologies, completed at the request of the ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ Legislature. The report, titled “Small-Scale Nuclear Power: An option for ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ?†includes an overview of the current status of both small modular and micro nuclear reactor technologies, including licensing, policy and economic considerations. The report also incorporates a number of recommendations related to continued technology tracking, education, and ensuring ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ use cases and concerns are considered at the national level.
These recommendations are based on presentations and discussions that took place during a four-part education series on small nuclear technologies hosted by ACEP. Thank you to the over 300 individuals who participated in these online sessions over the past several months, representing business, utilities, ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ Native organizations and research sectors.
