Going With the Flow: Ocean and River Energy Worskshop March 1

, is the second in a series of four free virtual workshops sponsored by the ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ Center for Energy and Power. It serves as a primer to the to be held May 24-26, 2022, at the Dena’ina Center in Anchorage, ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ.
ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ is estimated to have 90% of U.S. tidal energy resources and 50% of U.S. wave energy and in-river energy resources. A number of small-scale test deployments and demonstration projects have been installed in ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ over the past decade, but challenges to large-scale adoption remain.
Topics that will be discussed include:
What is the current and emerging status of hydrokinetic energy technologies?
What are the key challenges for their implementation in ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ?
What are the applicable lessons learned with other variable renewables?
How do ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ use-case scenarios compare with those elsewhere?
