Dear University of ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ Fairbanks students,
In a spirit of gratitude after a rewarding 30-year career at ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ, I have decided to
retire from my position as ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ chancellor. My last day will be July 26, 2025. In the
near term, I will retain my affiliation with ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ through my faculty position in civil
engineering.
I am thankful to you, the students, for choosing ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ. You have enriched our campuses
with your curiosity, tenacity and enthusiasm. ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ is an amazing institution because
of you.
Today, like times in the past, ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ faces challenges. But there is also a great deal
of opportunity ahead! ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ has an outstanding core of leadership, strong and growing
enrollment, state support for our run to R1, and a wide range of expertise that will
serve the state, nation, and world well into the future.Ìý
Thank you for the vibrance you bring to our community and for entrusting ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ with
your education. It is worthy of your support.Ìý
Thank you and thanks for choosing ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ!
Dan White, chancellor
