How to Get and Stay Certified

Here are the steps to get and stay a certified ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ Master Gardener. 

Complete the Course

Complete the ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ Master Gardener Course with a 70% grade or higher.

Review and sign the .
 

 

 

 

Initial Volunteer Hours

Complete 40 hours of appropriate volunteer service the same year you complete the course. After passing the course and completing your volunteer hours, you are an official ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ Master Gardener.
 

Annual Volunteer Hours

Complete 20 hours of appropriate volunteer service in your community.


 

 

 

Annual Professional Development

Complete 12 hours of gardening related professional development. Experiential Learning Courses will be offered to fulfill this option.

 

 

Join an association!

If available, join a local Master Gardener Association in ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ. This is not required to maintain your status as a certified ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ Master Gardener.
